Amira Zaïri has an extensive academic background. In 2022, she earned a Certificate of Complementary Studies in Medical Pedagogy, and in 2020, she obtained a Certificate of Complementary Studies in Medical English. In 2019, she was awarded a Certificate of Academic Accreditation to Supervise Research in Biological Sciences and Biotechnology. She completed a Diploma of Microbiology at the Institute of Pasteur in Paris, France, in 2008. Amira earned her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences and Biotechnology from the High Institute of Biotechnology (ISBM) of Monastir, Tunisia, in 2007. Prior to that, in 2003, she achieved a Degree of Advanced Studies (DEA) in Immunology and Biotechnology from the Faculty of Pharmacy in Monastir, Tunisia. She holds a Master’s Degree in Biological Sciences with a specialization in Molecular Biology, which she received in 2000 from the Faculty of Sciences in Monastir, Tunisia. Her academic journey began with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry (DEUG) from the Faculty of Sciences in Monastir, Tunisia, in 1998, following her Post High School Technical Degree in Mathematics from Lycée Jeune Fille in Kairouan, Tunisia, in 1996.

Positions and Honors

Amira Zaïri has been an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of Sousse since 2013. She serves as an associate editor for the Journal of Research in Biological Sciences (JRBS) and is a member of the Research Laboratory of Bioresources: Integrative Biology and Valorization (BIOIBVAL), “LR14-ES06,” at the University of Monastir in Tunisia. She is the head of the Students’ Committee at the Faculty of Medicine of Sousse and a member of the committee on Techniques of Information and Communications at the same institution. Additionally, Amira has organized several congresses and workshops. She is also recognized as an expert on Biosafety and Biosecurity by Sandia Laboratories in New Mexico, USA.

Experience

From 2008 to 2013, Amira Zaïri worked as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Science of Gafsa in Tunisia. During this time, she also served as the General Secretary of the African Association of Microbiology and Food Hygiene.

He earned a Ph.D. in Human Anatomy and Embryology from Hebei Medical University, where he studied from September 2014 to July 2018. Prior to this, he completed a Master’s in Surgery with a specialization in Spine Surgery at the same university, studying from September 2008 to July 2011. His academic journey began with a Bachelor’s in Clinical Medicine from Tianjin Medical University, which he attended from September 2003 to July 2008. Prior to that, he was an instructor in the English Language Department and Language Centre at An-Najah National University from February 2006 to August 2014 on a part-time basis. He also taught culture and Palestinian society at Jagiellonian University in Poland for one semester during the 2009-2010 academic year.
