Prof Dr. Grigorios Beligiannis  distinguished academic and researcher in the field Urban Transit Routing Problem. Grigorios Beligiannis graduated from the Department of Computer Engineering & Informatics of the University of Patras in 1997. He finished his postgraduate studies in “Computer & Information Technology” in 2000 and his doctoral dissertation in 2002 at the same time Department. In 2007 he was elected to the lecturer’s degree with knowledge area “Management Information Systems “. In 2011 he has evolved at the rank of Assistant Professor, in 2016 at Associate Professor and in 2020 at Professor with subject “Intelligent Information systems“. He has 53 published research papers in international scientific journals, 49 published papers in scientific conferences and 4 book chapters. He is Associate Editor of International Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Member of the Scientific Committee of Applied Soft Computing, Helyion, International Journal of Information and Communications Technology Education and Artificial Intelligence Research. He has been a member of the Organizing Committee at more than 120 international scientific conferences. His research interests focus on Algorithms of Decision Theory, on Intelligent Algorithm Applications to Operations Research problems and on Business Intelligence Systems.

He holds a Diploma of Computer Engineering and Informatics from the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics at the University of Patras, earned in 1997. Subsequently, he pursued an MSc in “Computer Science and Computer Technology” from the same department, graduating in 2000. Building upon his academic foundation, he completed his PhD in 2002, focusing on “Evolutionary Systems for Digital Signal Processing of Stochastic Signals,” also at the University of Patras. His academic journey reflects a deep commitment to advancing knowledge and expertise in the field of computer engineering and informatics, particularly in areas related to digital signal processing and evolutionary systems.

He specializes in various domains at the intersection of artificial intelligence, computational intelligence, and machine learning. His expertise spans artificial neural networks, genetic and evolutionary algorithms, genetic programming, and evolution strategies. Additionally, he is proficient in decision support theory and pattern recognition techniques. With a focus on the design and development of information systems, he excels in creating intelligent systems that can handle complex data sets and support decision-making processes effectively. His research extends to the application of hybrid intelligent information systems for modeling real-world time series data, encompassing diverse fields such as bio-signals, financial data, and agricultural applications. Furthermore, he actively contributes to the advancement of hybrid intelligent algorithms for solving timetabling and scheduling problems, as well as multi-objective optimization challenges.
