Dr. Asmaa Said is an accomplished researcher and academic in the field of chemistry, specializing in applied physical and organic chemistry with a strong focus on refining technologies and photocatalytic processes. She earned her Ph.D. in Science from Ain-Shams University (2016), where she explored diesel fuel improvement through photocatalytic desulphurization, preceded by an M.Sc. from Menofia University (2008) on triazole and oxadiazole derivatives with potential biological activity, and a B.Sc. in Science from Menofia University (2004, Very Good, 83.61%). Currently serving as Head of the Physical Refining Laboratory and Assistant Professor at the Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute (EPRI), Dr. Said has held progressive roles since 2012, advancing from chemist to researcher and academic leader. Her technical expertise spans advanced analytical and material characterization techniques, including XRD, GC, NMR, Raman, HPLC, FTIR, TGA, HRTEM, FSEM, BET, and nanotechnology applications. She is an active reviewer for prestigious journals such as ACS Applied Nano Materials, International Journal of Hydrogen and Energy, and Chemical Engineering Journal, while also holding memberships in international bodies including the Royal Society of Chemistry, American Chemical Society, and ESAMNT. Dr. Said contributes to major scientific projects such as perovskite solar cell development and green hydrogen generation and has completed advanced training programs in leadership, intellectual property, entrepreneurship, data analysis, and research methodology. Dedicated to community engagement, she has served as a scientific judge and mentor in national science competitions, supervised student projects, and actively promotes innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration. She has presented her research at international conferences on petroleum, chemistry, and environmental sustainability, highlighting her pioneering work in photocatalytic fuel desulfurization and sustainable energy solutions.
