Dr. Lidia Błaszczyk is a distinguished Professor at the Institute of Plant Genetics, Polish Academy of Sciences (IPG PAS), Poznań, where she leads the Plant Microbiomics Team and has built an eminent career in agricultural sciences with deep specialization in plant–microorganism interactions. Her research focuses on the diversity, transmission, and ecological roles of microorganisms inhabiting rhizosphere, phyllosphere and endosphere tissues of plants, as well as the morphological, anatomical, physiological and molecular responses of plants to microbiome fluctuations. She has made major contributions to understanding epigenetic mechanisms-including DNA methylation, lncRNA, microRNA and histone modifications-in the multidirectional interactions of wheat with pathogenic and symbiotic fungi, while also characterizing Trichoderma fungi and selecting endogenous microorganisms for plant growth biostimulation and biological control of fungal diseases. Since joining IPG PAS in 2003, she has progressed from Assistant to Assistant Professor and ultimately to Professor and Team Head, earning her Habilitation in 2017 with research on species diversity and antagonistic activity of Polish Trichoderma strains, following her Ph.D. on leaf rust resistance genes in wheat. Dr. Błaszczyk’s scientific expertise spans advanced molecular biology techniques, next-generation sequencing, bioinformatics and diagnostics of plant fungal diseases, and her leadership extends to supervising Ph.D. students, delivering academic lectures, reviewing national and international research projects, and serving as a panel member for FCT-the Portuguese public R&D funding agency.

Ke Xiong received his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU), Beijing, China, in 2004 and 2010, respectively. He worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Electronics Engineering at Tsinghua University from April 2010 to February 2013, and since March 2013 he has served BJTU as a Lecturer, Associate Professor, and currently as a Full Professor and Vice Dean of the School of Computer and Information Technology. From September 2015 to September 2016, he was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Maryland, College Park, USA. He has published more than 200 academic papers in refereed journals and conferences, and his research interests span wireless cooperative networks, wireless powered networks, and network information theory. Prof. Xiong holds numerous key academic and industry leadership roles, including Council Member of the China Software Industry Association; Executive Secretary-General of the National Smart Transportation and Intelligent Connected Vehicles Industry-Education Integration Community; Director and Chief Expert of the Industrial Internet Association Think Tank under the China Mobile Communications Association; Director of the IoT Work Committee Think Tank under the Internet Society of China; and membership in several major national technical committees. He is a Distinguished Expert at both the ZTE–Beijing Jiaotong University 5G Joint Laboratory and the Peking University–Hebei Handan Research Institute, a member of the China Computer Federation (CCF), and a senior member of the Chinese Institute of Electronics (CIE) and the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI).

He has participated in multiple national and regional scientific projects and served as the principal investigator for synthetic-biology-based high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid production. Prof. Athanasios Koustelios is a distinguished academic in Human Resources Management and Sport Sciences, currently serving as Professor in the Department of Business Administration at the University of Thessaly since 2019. Dr. Martha Jimenez Martinez is a distinguished clinical psychologist and academic with extensive experience in research, teaching, and program development. She began her professional career at the Foundation for Family and Community Strengthening as a Clinical Psychologist from 1998 to 2000. Since 2001, she has served as a Full Professor at the Pedagogical and Technological University of Colombia in the School of Psychology, specializing in Clinical Psychology and Basic Psychological Processes. A Senior Researcher in the latest Colciencias 2024 classification, she is an active member of the International Sex Survey Consortium since 2020. Dr. Martinez holds a Psychology degree from the Catholic University of Colombia, a Master’s in Behavior Therapy from UNED, Madrid, an IT and Multimedia specialization from Los Libertadores University Foundation, and a PhD in Applied Cognitive Neuroscience from Maimonides University, Argentina. She is currently pursuing postdoctoral studies in Social Sciences, Childhood, and Youth, and has completed international training, including a scholarship from Israel on “Children at Risk in Early Childhood” and an English immersion course at the University of Saint Thomas, USA. She is also the recipient of the prestigious Orchids Women in Science Scholarship 2024–2025 from the Colombian Ministry of Science and Technology.

Marvella Elizabeth Ford, Ph.D., serves as the Associate Director of Community Outreach and Engagement at the Hollings Cancer Center (HCC) and is an integral member of the HCC Cancer Prevention and Control Program, where she leads initiatives that strengthen trust and collaboration between the center and South Carolina communities through research and service-based activities. A behavioral scientist deeply committed to cancer health equity, her work focuses on improving the recruitment and retention of diverse populations in cancer research and advancing intervention design and implementation. She contributes nationally as a co-investigator of the NIH-funded Prostate, Lung, Colorectal, and Ovarian (PLCO) Cancer Screening Trial and has spearheaded multiple ancillary studies supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Cancer Institute. As a multiple principal investigator (MPI) of the MUSC Hollings Cancer Center NCORP MU community site, she collaborates with clinical oncology partners across South Carolina to enhance the participation of rural populations in clinical trials and expand cancer population health research. Dr. Ford has co-led a National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD)-funded randomized trial that significantly increased lung cancer surgery rates among Black patients through protocol-driven patient navigation, and she currently serves as MPI of a multi-state, multi-institutional Stand Up To Cancer grant evaluating a multilevel intervention to promote lung cancer screening and build a shared population-based cohort and biorepository to address biologic determinants and risk factors among Black communities across Virginia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. Additionally, she previously led an NIH/NCI-funded U54 Center to examine biologic pathways and lifestyle behaviors associated with diverse cancer sub-types while building a statewide network of trained cancer researchers to drive improved cancer outcomes in South Carolina and across the nation.
