He is currently researching the following inorganic materials: oxides from the Scheelite/Wolframite families with the general formula [ABO4], tungstates and molybdates with the formulas [A2BO4/A2B3O12], and also some Perovskites with the general formula [ABO3]. His main objective is the structural/electronic analysis and investigation of the photoluminescent and photocatalytic properties of these materials in ordered and/or disordered forms. Additionally, he studies the influence of different compositions of network modifiers (A = Ca, Ba, Sr, Pb, Cd, Ni, Sn, Co, In, Y, Zn, Fe, Bi, Co, Ag, and Mn) and network formers (B = Ti, Zr, W, and Mo) on the electronic structure and physicochemical properties of these ceramic materials. The main synthesis methods he uses are: Polymeric precursors, sonochemical, precipitation, co-precipitation, conventional hydrothermal/solvothermal, and microwave-assisted hydrothermal/solvothermal methods.

Jinfeng Ma holds a Ph.D. in Cartography and Geographic Information System from Beijing Normal University, earned between September 2004 and July 2007. Prior to this, Ma completed an M.Sc. in Solid Earth Geophysics at Jilin University from September 2001 to July 2004, followed by a B.Sc. in Applied Geophysics at the same institution from September 1997 to July 2001. Currently, Ma serves as Deputy Researcher at the State Key Laboratory of Urban and Regional Ecology within the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences at the Chinese Academy of Sciences

Research Experiences

Jinfeng Ma’s academic and research journey includes significant postdoctoral experience and subsequent roles at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. After completing a Ph.D. in Cartography and Geographic Information System at Beijing Normal University in 2007, Ma undertook postdoctoral research at Tsinghua University from July 2007 to July 2009. Following this, Ma transitioned to a role as an Assistant Researcher at the State Key Laboratory of Urban and Regional Ecology, Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, serving from July 2009 until January 2023. Currently, Ma holds the position of Deputy Researcher at the same institution, a role commenced in January 2023. This academic and professional trajectory underscores Ma’s expertise and ongoing contributions within the field of environmental sciences and geographic information systems.
