Dr. Ibrahim Ahmad is a veterinary scientist with extensive experience in livestock health, production, and sustainable agriculture. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Agriculture with a focus on sustainable livestock production and a Graduate Certificate in Research at the University of Tasmania, Australia, where his research involves developing anti-methanogenic feed additives from Asparagopsis bromoform to mitigate enteric methane emissions in ruminants. He earned his M.Sc. in Veterinary Medicine (Research) from Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria, investigating bovine tuberculosis in slaughtered cattle, and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Nigeria, where he studied the prevalence of Campylobacter species in meat. Dr. Ahmad has held progressive roles in the Directorate of Animal Health and Livestock Development in Gusau, Nigeria, serving as Senior Veterinary Officer, Meat Inspector, and Livestock Production Consultant. His professional expertise spans herd health management, disease surveillance, veterinary diagnostics, zoonotic disease monitoring, reproductive biotechnologies, and sustainable livestock practices. He has contributed significantly to research and policy recommendations for improving animal welfare, farm efficiency, and reducing the environmental footprint of livestock production in Nigeria and beyond.
