Before his residency, he attended Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, OH, where he pursued his M.D. degree. He obtained an impressive MCAT score of 36 (97th percentile) and achieved scores of 241 on USMLE Step 1 and 243 on USMLE Step 2 CK. Notably, he graduated with Honors in Research.

His academic journey began at Princeton University in Princeton, NJ, where he earned his A.B. in Molecular Biology with Honors, graduating Cum Laude in the Class of 2016 with a GPA of 3.70. During his time at Princeton, he was recognized with Honors from Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society.

Prior to Princeton, he distinguished himself academically at Montgomery High School, where he graduated as the Salutatorian of the Class of 2012, ranking #2 out of 422 students. He achieved a remarkable SAT score of 2380 (800 CR, 780 M, 800 W). His senior thesis focused on the role of 2′,5′-Oligoadenylate (2-5A) and RNA Cleavage in the Anti-Inflammatory Response by a Novel Nuclear Factor Kappa B (NF-kB) Inhibitor ASCC1.

He currently serves as an Orthopedic Surgery Resident Physician at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, where he has held the position since June 2020. As a PGY-4 resident at the largest hospital in Brooklyn, a level 1 trauma center with 711 beds, he takes 24-hour call every 4 days. He has logged over 1500 operative cases across various orthopedic subspecialties including trauma, joint reconstruction, pediatric orthopedics, orthopedic oncology, sports medicine, shoulder/elbow, hand surgery, and spine surgery. Additionally, he is pursuing a fellowship in spine surgery. Notably, he was selected by the Program Director as the Research Chief Resident and has an impressive publication record, with 92 papers published, over 250 podium presentations, and contributions to 3 book chapters in leading orthopedic journals such as the Journal of Arthroplasty, The Spine Journal, and the Journal of Knee Surgery. He has also presented at national conferences including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS).

Outside of his medical endeavors, he holds several significant roles. He is the Founding Partner and President of Thessalus Capital Management, a biotech long/short equity investment fund based in Princeton, NJ, which he founded in February 2015. Under his leadership, the fund has managed assets exceeding $1 million, achieving a remarkable return of over 40% which surpasses the S&P500. Thessalus Capital Management is run by 23 resident physicians/surgeons and medical students, focusing on healthcare ETFs and mid-market biotech companies. His work has been recognized by reputable media outlets such as Forbes, Bloomberg, Inc., IBTimes, and CNBC. The fund’s thesis revolves around identifying promising clinical drug candidates, particularly in areas such as molecular diagnostics, CAR-T cancer immunotherapies, gene editing (CRISPR/Cas9), monoclonal antibodies, and specialty pharma/chemicals.

Furthermore, he has extensive research experience, including as a Visiting Researcher at the Cleveland Clinic Department of Orthopaedic Surgery since September 2016, where he has collaborated with multiple research groups and has been involved in numerous publications and presentations. He was also a Medical Affairs Consultant at Ferghana Partners, Inc., a middle-market Wall Street investment bank specializing in healthcare, where he worked on financial models, valuation analyses, and researched niche sectors within the healthcare industry.

In addition to his professional pursuits, he has also been involved in various leadership roles and entrepreneurial ventures. He served as a Cadet Sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) during his undergraduate years at Princeton University, where he maintained a 4.0 ROTC military science GPA. He currently serves as the Team Physician for St. Francis College Men’s and Women’s Varsity Basketball teams and is the Founding Partner and CEO of ThinkIvy Inc., an education college consulting and tutoring company based in Princeton, NJ. Under his leadership, ThinkIvy Inc. has achieved significant success, working with numerous clients and placing top students into prestigious universities such as Harvard and Princeton. He has also been recognized for his entrepreneurship, winning the 2013 Silicon Valley Tigertrek Entrepreneurship Competition.
