Dr. Muhammad Saqib Khan distinguished academic and researcher in the field Environmental Nanoscience. With a Doctorate in Environmental Sciences (PCD number 26226) from the Department of Environmental Sciences at COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus, Pakistan, he has established himself as a prolific researcher and educator. One notable achievement in his research career is the recognition of his article “Photodegradation of Orange II under visible light using Cu–Ni/TiO2: Effect of calcination temperature” as the most cited research publication in the Chemical Engineering Journal for the year 2012. Commencing in 1992, he achieved first place with a remarkable 65% in the SSC (Science) examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Abbottabad, Pakistan. This early success laid the foundation for his subsequent academic pursuits.
Moving forward, he completed his F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) from BISE Abbottabad in 1996, securing the top position with a notable 65.8%. Subsequently, he enrolled in a four-year B.Sc. (Hons) program in Human Nutrition at NWFP Agricultural University Peshawar, Pakistan, from 1996 to 2001. During this period, he authored a review paper on the role of Selenium in human health and delved into a special problem focused on determining the serving size of different food items served on and off campus. His dedication earned him a grade of 3.19/4.00, achieving a commendable 72%.
Furthering his academic journey, he pursued an MS in Environmental Sciences at the Department of Environmental Sciences, COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus, Pakistan, from 2005 to 2008. His thesis, titled “Determination and Quantification of Pesticides Residues in Summer Vegetables using Chromatographic Techniques,” showcased his expertise in environmental science. He obtained a grade of 3.23/4.00, with an impressive 80%.
Culminating his academic achievements, he embarked on a doctoral journey in Environmental Sciences at the same institution, COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus, Pakistan, from 2017 to 2022. His groundbreaking research focused on “Graphene Quantum Dots Decorated Metal and Non-metal Doped Nanomaterials for Photocatalysis of Azo Dyes.” Throughout his PhD coursework, he maintained an outstanding grade of 3.54/4.00, as reflected in the PhD Country Directory Number 26226.
