Prof Dr. Nidhi Chauhan  distinguished academic and researcher in the field Biosensor. she worked as a Research Associate at the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in New Delhi. Additionally, she was a Senior Research Fellow at ICMR from April to November 2012. Earlier in her career, she was a Biochemistry Lecturer at Teerthanker Mahaveer Dental College and Research Centre in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, India, from 2007 to 2009.

She earned her PhD in Biochemistry from the Department of Biochemistry at Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, under the supervision of Prof. C.S. Pundir, from 2009 to 2012, achieving the Gold Medal and the Best PhD Thesis Award. Prior to that, she completed her M.Phil. in Biochemistry at Vinayaka Mission University, India, in 2007-2008. She obtained her M.Sc. in Biochemistry from Sardar Bhagwan Singh University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India, during 2004-2006, and her B.Sc. in Biochemistry from M.J.P. Rohilkhand University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, India, between 2002 and 2004.

POSITIONS  

She is currently a Senior Associate Professor at the School of Health Sciences & Technology (SoHST) at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) in Bidholi, Dehradun, India, a position she has held since 2022. Previously, she was an Associate Professor at the Amity Institute of Nanotechnology, Amity University Uttar Pradesh (AUUP) in Noida, India, from 2021 to 2022, and an Assistant Professor at the same institute from 2013 to 2021. In May-July 2013, she served as a Senior Research Associate at AUUP, and from May to December 2012,

he has received numerous awards, accomplishments, and honors throughout her career. In 2022, she was ranked No. 1 as the Best Scientist in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and 6th in the whole Science and Technology domain at Amity University by AD Scientific Index. She was also awarded the prestigious SERB International Research Experience (SIRE) Fellowship to work at Malmö University in Sweden and received the Best Presentation Award at an international conference on “Recent Advances in Nano Medical Sciences (RANMS2022)” at the University of Delhi. In 2021, she was ranked and selected in the top 2% of World Scientists by Stanford University and recognized as one of the “Top Youngest Authors” affiliated with Amity University in Scopus, having completed over 100 research papers in high-impact journals. She also received the “Outstanding Plus” Researcher and Faculty award in 2021 and 2020 during the annual research and academic performance grading at Amity University, and she was ranked in the top 2% of Scientists of India by Stanford University in 2020. Additionally, she was awarded the title of “Trigger Rider” for achievements in scientific research and innovation for Amity University.

In 2019, she received an international travel grant award from DBT, India, for being a keynote speaker in Paris, France. Her research paper was published as the first author with Nobel Laureate Prof. Barry J. Marshall in 2018, and her research work was highlighted in the online news “Managing diabetes with 3D nanostructured” on Atlas of Science. In 2017, she was awarded the DBT-Indo-Australian Career Boosting Gold (IACBGF) Fellowship to work with Nobel Laureate Prof. Barry J. Marshall at the University of Western Australia for four months and received a Golden Letter of Appreciation from him. She also received the Best Scientist Medal from the International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM) in 2017.

Her other accolades include the Best Presentation Award at the International Conference on Materials Science & Technology (ICMTech-2016) at the University of Delhi, India, and the Best Poster Presentation Award at “ICRTMD2015” at Amity University Uttar Pradesh (AUUP). In 2015, she received the DBT and ICMR International Travel Grant to attend the Advanced Materials World Congress in Sweden. She was awarded the Most Prestigious Shakuntala Amir Chand Award by the Indian Council of Medical Research, Government of India, in 2014, along with a Visiting Research Fellowship by JNCASR-Bangalore, India. She also received a travel grant from TWAS for a poster presentation at NIMHANS-Bangalore in 2014.

Her other notable achievements include the Second Best Poster Award at the international conference on Health, Environment & Industrial Biotechnology at Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, in 2013, the Gold Medal Award for Best PhD Thesis in 2012, and the Best Poster Presentation Award at the National Conference on Carbon Materials 2012 (CCM12) at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai. In 2011, she was granted a prestigious US patent (PCT Application Number PCT/IN2011/000833), and her research was highlighted in Nature India for “Brain Protein as pesticide sniffer.” In 2010, she was awarded a foreign travel grant by CSIR, New Delhi, to present a paper at the Biosensors 2010, the 20th Anniversary World Congress on Biosensors, in Glasgow, UK.
