Prof. Xixu Peng | Biological Network | Research Excellence Award

Prof. Xixu Peng is a distinguished academic and researcher in the field of plant sciences at Hunan University of Science and Technology. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biological Education from the College of Life Sciences at Hunan University of Science and Technology (1995–1999) and later completed his Master’s degree in Ecology at Hunan Agricultural University (2002–2005). To further enhance his international research exposure, he served as a Visiting Scholar at The Ohio State University, USA, within the Department of Horticulture and Crop Science and the Center for Applied Plant Sciences (2016–2017). Prof. Peng began his academic career as a Teaching Assistant in 2005 and progressed through the ranks of Lecturer and Associate Professor before being promoted to Professor in 2022. He currently serves as the Head of the Master’s Program in Biological Education. His research focuses on plant resistance physiology and molecular biology, plant–microbe interactions, and the identification and detection of phytopathogenic fungi.

Prof. Seung Beom Seo is an Associate Professor at the International School of Urban Science, University of Seoul, where he also serves as Head of the Department of Sustainable Urban Development and Director of the Global Urban and Infrastructure Research Center. He earned his PhD in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University, USA, following his master’s degree from Seoul National University and a bachelor’s degree from Dongguk University, South Korea. Prof. Seo’s academic career includes roles as Assistant Professor at the University of Seoul, Research Fellow at the Korea Environment Institute, and Post-doctoral Researcher at Seoul National University. He began his professional journey as an Engineer at Daewoo E&C. His research interests focus on Biological Networks, with particular emphasis on Biological Connectivity.

Dr. Imrana Amir is an accomplished zoologist and fisheries scientist currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology at the University of Mianwali, Pakistan. She holds a PhD in Fisheries and Aquaculture from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, and has extensive research and teaching experience in aquatic biology, fisheries management, and life sciences. Dr. Amir has worked as an IPFP/Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Okara and has international research exposure as a Visiting PhD Scholar at The Ohio State University, USA, and as a Charles Wallace Visiting Fellow at the University of Glasgow, UK. She has actively contributed to academic capacity building through national faculty development programs and by organizing numerous seminars, conferences, and hands-on training workshops in fisheries, wildlife conservation, and data analysis. Her work reflects strong commitment to research, education, and scientific collaboration.
