University of Tuzla | Bosnia and Herzegovina

Dr. Ekrem Bektašević is an accomplished geotechnical and tunnelling engineer with over two decades of progressive responsibility across major infrastructure, mining, and highway-tunnel construction projects throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. Beginning his career in 2002 as a Sales Coordinator and later as Head of Stone Fraction and Concrete Production, he advanced into highly specialized technical leadership roles, serving as Technical Manager, Site Manager, Deputy Director, Chief Supervising Engineer, and Chief Geotechnical/Tunnel Superintending Engineer for numerous high-impact projects under FIDIC standards. His expertise spans open-pit coal exploitation, geological exploration, quarry management, service-tunnel construction, underground mining works, and the construction of complex double-tube highway tunnels such as Zenica, Vranduk, Golubinja, and the Kobilja Glava Tunnel. Dr. Bektašević has led and supervised critical works for institutions including RMU Breza, JP Autoceste FBiH, Sarajevo Canton Road Directorate, BBM-Vareš, TIM-Z, and PPG Sarajevo, consistently overseeing quality control, geotechnical compliance, construction documentation, safety planning, contractor coordination, and supervision of large multidisciplinary teams. His long record of managing technically challenging NATM tunnelling operations, ensuring rigorous QA/QC implementation, and directing major civil-engineering undertakings positions him as a distinguished expert and leader in the field of geotechnics, tunnel engineering, and large-scale infrastructure development.
