Dr. Kuldeep Sarma  distinguished academic and researcher in the field Algebraic graph theory. Throughout his academic journey, he has achieved remarkable milestones and garnered prestigious accolades. Notably, he was selected for the NBHM postdoctoral fellowship by the Department of Atomic Energy, India, in 2023, a testament to his scholarly contributions and expertise. His academic excellence was evident early on, as he qualified in the NBHM written examination for scholarships in both M.Sc. and Ph.D. in 2014 and 2015 respectively. Additionally, his proficiency in research was acknowledged when he qualified in the CSIR-UGC NET (JRF & LS) with an impressive All India Rank of 077, earning him the CSIR Junior Research Fellowship in 2016. Furthermore, he demonstrated his prowess in mathematics by qualifying in the GATE examination with an All India Rank of 174 in 2015. He pursued his academic journey with a strong focus on mathematics, beginning with his Secondary School Certificate from Govt. Gurdon H.S. School, Nalbari, Assam, in 2007, where he attained an impressive percentage of 82.83. Building upon this foundation, he completed his Higher Secondary Certificate in the Science Stream at Cotton College (University), Guwahati, India, from 2007 to 2009, achieving a commendable percentage of 73.6. His passion for mathematics led him to pursue an Integrated MSc in Mathematics at Tezpur University, Tezpur, India, from 2010 to 2015, where he graduated with First Class honors and a CGPA of 7.68 out of 10. Continuing his academic journey, he pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree at Tezpur University, Assam, India, from 2016 to 2021. He successfully defended his thesis titled “A Study On Algebraic Connectivity and Inverses of Graphs” on 10th March 2022, demonstrating his expertise and dedication to the field of mathematics.

Teaching Experience

He has actively contributed to the academic community through both teaching and presenting research papers at conferences and seminars. From November 2022 to March 2023, he taught Mathematics I (MS104), followed by Mathematics II (MS105) from March to June 2023, and Mathematics III (MS205) from August to December 2023. His commitment to education continued as he taught Mathematics I (MS104) again from January to June 2024. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he showcased his research findings through paper presentations at prestigious conferences. Notably, he presented a paper on “Minimizing algebraic connectivity over graphs made with some given blocks” at the International Conference on Analysis, Algebra, Combinatorics, and their applications, held at Jadavpur University from 20-22 January 2020. Furthermore, he presented another paper titled “Inverses of non-bipartite unicyclic graphs with a unique perfect matching” at the International Conference on Linear Algebra and its Applications (ICLAA 2021), hosted at MAHE, Manipal, India, from 15-17 December 2021. Through his teaching and research endeavors, he has made significant contributions to the fields of mathematics and academia as a whole.

Suliman Khan – Spectral Graph Theory- Best Researcher Award

Mr. Suliman Khan distinguished academic and researcher in the field  Spectral Graph Theory.  He is currently pursuing his PhD at Tilburg University in the Netherlands under the supervision of Prof. Edwin Van Dam. His research topic focuses on the generalization of cometric (Q-polynomial) schemes. This builds upon his prior academic achievements, including a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics from Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI) in Pakistan. During his master’s studies, he achieved a remarkable final GPA of 3.71/4.00, earning him the distinction of being a Gold Medallist. Additionally, he was awarded a fully funded scholarship in the form of a Graduate Assistantship.

His master’s dissertation titled “Computational and efficiency analyses of certain graph-theoretic parameters” demonstrates his aptitude in mathematical research, under the guidance of Dr. Sakander Hayat. Prior to his master’s degree, he completed a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at the University of Malakand (UOM) in Pakistan, achieving a commendable final GPA of 3.72/4.00. Suliman Khan obtained his M.S. degree in Applied Mathematics from GIK Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Topi, Pakistan, winning the University Gold Medal of all sciences. He secured the Italian government scholarship for his PhD studies and has been admitted to the Department of Mathematics and Physics at the University of Campania Luigi Vanitelli, Italy, in February 2022. Dr. Suliman’s main areas of research interest are graph theory, spectral graph theory, chemical graph theory, signed graphs, and gain graphs. He has published more than 10 research articles in these areas in reputable international journals.

Notably, he presented at the International Linear Algebra Society (ILAS) Conference in June 2023 in Madrid, Spain, where he delivered a talk titled “No cycle-spliced bipartite signed graph with nullity ⴄ(G)=c(G).” Prior to this, he also presented at the Combinatorics 2022 Conference in Mantua, Italy, in May-June 2022, where he spoke on “Line graph of Pan and Lollipop graphs.”

Furthermore, he has attended seminars such as the Summer School on “Contemporary Algebraic and Geometric Techniques in Coding Theory and Cryptography” organized by the Dipartimento di Matematica e Fisica, University of Campania, Italy, held virtually on Microsoft Teams in July 18–22, 2022, and the Symposium: 2nd All Pakistan Research Symposium at GIK Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology in Topi, Pakistan, in April 19–21, 2019. He has been recognized with several prestigious awards and scholarships for his academic excellence and contributions to the field of sciences. Notably, he was awarded the GIK Gold Medal for his outstanding achievements at the GIK Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology in July 2021. His dedication and hard work also earned him the Satori Da Pakhtunkhwa Top-20 Position Holder’s Award from the Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education in Malakand KPK, Pakistan, in September 2014. Furthermore, he secured a Graduate Assistantship and a Fully Funded Scholarship Award at the GIK Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, demonstrating his commitment to advancing his education and research pursuits.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

From February 2021 to July 2021, he held the position of Visiting Lecturer at the University of Swabi (UOS) in Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. During this tenure, he taught courses on Graph Theory, Business Mathematics, and Pharmaceutical Mathematics, demonstrating his expertise across diverse mathematical domains.

Simultaneously, he served as a Graduate Assistant at the GIK Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI) in Topi, Pakistan.
