Early Academic Pursuits

Dr. Raymond Tyoakaa Iorhemen’s academic journey is grounded in a strong foundation of chemical sciences, beginning with a B.Sc. in Pure Chemistry from the University of Jos, Nigeria, in 2010. His undergraduate project, focused on the spectrophotometric determination of paracetamol, demonstrated his early inclination towards analytical methodologies. Pursuing further specialization, he obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Chemistry with Distinction in 2015 and an M.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry in 2018, both from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria. His postgraduate dissertation involved a significant environmental application—remediation of toxic elements in local clays. Currently, he is a doctoral candidate at ABU, Zaria, set to complete his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry in December 2024. His thesis explores the development of novel cholesteryl chloroformate-based metallogelators for oil spill remediation, positioning him at the intersection of innovation and environmental stewardship.

Professional Endeavors
