He has extensively delved into various neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders, encompassing Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, PTSD, depression, schizophrenia, diabetic cognitive dysfunction, and diabetic neuropathy, among others. Despite this broad spectrum of research, his primary focus has remained on Alzheimer’s disease, reflecting his dedication to advancing understanding and treatment in this critical area of neuroscience. He holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a specialization in Neuroscience from the Pharmacology Division at UIPS, Panjab University, Chandigarh, India. Awarded in December 2021, his doctoral research delved into cutting-edge areas within pharmacology. Prior to his Ph.D., he pursued an M.S. in Pharmacology & Toxicology at the esteemed National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Hyderabad, India, completing it in 2015 with a commendable CGPA of 7.9. His academic journey began with a B. Pharmacy degree from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi, where he graduated with a notable score of 69.2% in 2012. Before his undergraduate studies, he excelled in his secondary education, securing 80.0% in Class X from Milanpalli High School under the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. Additionally, his proficiency was evident in Class XII where he achieved a commendable 50.9% from Islampur High School under the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education. Currently engaged in a postdoctoral position at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, School of Medicine, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, under the guidance of Dr. XiaoChing Li, his focus lies on unraveling the molecular intricacies of neural circuit development and vocal communication within the zebra finch model of autism. Prior to this, he earned his Ph.D. from UIPS, Panjab University, Chandigarh, where his doctoral research, supervised by Dr. Sangeeta Pilkhwal Sah, centered on elucidating the phenomenon of brain insulin resistance in Alzheimer’s disease, with a focus on targeting the PI3K/Akt/GSK-3β pathway in a rat model. His academic journey also involved rigorous coursework in research methodology, biostatistics, and pharmaceutical sciences, further enhancing his analytical prowess. In his M.S. program at NIPER, Hyderabad, he undertook a dissertation project under the guidance of Dr. Sudhir Sehdev and Dr. VGM Naidu, focusing on the cloning, expression, and purification of recombinant proteins utilizing bacterial expression systems. Dr. Chiazor Onyia distinguished academic and researcher in the field Neurosurgery. He began his professional journey at Parklane Specialist Hospital in G.R.A., Enugu, Nigeria, where he completed a one-year Housemanship (House Officer) program from 2004 to 2005. Following this, he served as part of the National Youth Service Corps (N.Y.S.C.) at Gajiram General Hospital in Nganzai L.G.A., Mongonu Zone, Borno State, Nigeria, from 2005 to 2006.

His career then led him to the Department of Surgery at Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria, where he served as a Registrar from 2008 to 2011. He progressed to the role of Senior Registrar in the Neurosurgery Unit within the same hospital complex from July 2011 to September 2012.

He further honed his skills at the Department of Neurosurgery at University College Hospital in Ibadan, Oyo state, Nigeria, as a Senior Registrar from October 2012 to December 2013. Subsequently, he embarked on an international stint as a Visiting Resident at the Department of Neurosurgery, Amrita Institute of Medical and Sciences and Research in Kochi, Kerala, India, from January 2014 to December 2014.
