In 2023, his paper titled “A Data-Driven Under Frequency Load Shedding Scheme in Power Systems,” co-authored by Hemin Golpira, Hassan Bevrani, Bruno Francois, and himself, was selected as one of the five outstanding papers by the IEEE Transactions on Power Systems. In 2018, he received the IEEE Power System Dynamic Performance (PSDP) Committee Prize Paper Award for the paper “A Dynamic Mode Decomposition Framework for Global Power System Oscillation Analysis,” authored by E. Barocio, B. C. Pal, N. F. Thornhill, and A. R. Messina. The year 2013 brought him the IEEE Power Engineering Society, Power System Dynamic Performance Committee, Technical Committee Working Group Recognition Award for his contributions to the “Identification of Electromechanical Modes.

” His significant contributions to the analysis of electric power systems led to his election as a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2012. My academic journey began with undergraduate studies from October 2010 to May 2014, where I pursued a BSc in Hotel Management from the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Suez Canal University in Ismailia, Egypt. From January 2020 to October 2022, I pursued my doctoral studies, obtaining a PhD in Hotel Management from the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Suez Canal University in Ismailia, Egypt. My research focused on the intersection of business economics and emerging technology, specifically exploring the impact of creative destruction to achieve sustainable competitive advantage through augmented reality. The dissertation delved into the application of augmented reality in five-star hotels, employing a creative destruction approach to practices. Through an experimental study, I assessed the effectiveness of augmented reality in enhancing the hotel workplace, enabling employees to develop their knowledge and unleash latent talents. I received an excellent degree with a recommendation to publish the thesis at the level of Egyptian and Arab universities.

Prior to my doctoral studies, I completed my Master’s degree from October 2016 to October 2019, earning an MSc in Hotel Management from the same faculty. My master’s thesis, titled “Assessment of occupational health and safety measures for staff in the food and beverage department: Applied to some three-star hotels,” focused on managing human resources in the service sector, particularly the hospitality industry. The research centered on implementing global standards, specifically “ISO 45001-2018,” to ensure strict measures for maintaining the health and safety of employees in the workplace. My involvement has continued to evolve, and since November 2023, I have been an active member of the Cultural Relations Committee. This ongoing commitment reflects my dedication to promoting cultural exchange and understanding within the academic community at Suez Canal University. Overall, my multifaceted engagement demonstrates my comprehensive contribution to the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, aligning with its objectives and fostering its continuous development.

WORKING EXPERIENCE

Since March 2016, he has been actively involved in the academic field, progressing through various roles within the Hotel Management Department at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Suez Canal University in Egypt. Starting as a Demonstrator, he imparted knowledge in areas such as Hotel Cost Accounting, Hotel Marketing Management, Hospitality Industry Principles, and Housekeeping and Décor Management.

His dedication and expertise led to his promotion to Assistant Lecturer from October 2019 to December 2022, during which he expanded his instructional repertoire to include subjects like Hotel Environment Management, Market Research, Management Information Systems, Food and Beverage Quality Control, and Human Resource Development. Continuing his academic journey, he currently serves as a Lecturer from January 2023, covering a diverse range of topics such as Crisis Management in the Hospitality Industry, Social Media Management, Computer Applications in Hotels, Occupational Health and Safety Management, Restaurant Service Arts, Food and Beverages Safety, Banquet and Conference Management, Strategic Planning in the Hospitality Industry, International Cuisines, Principles of Statistics, and Front Office Management.

Concurrently, he has taken on the responsibility of mentoring PhD candidates, focusing on the application of artificial intelligence in Egyptian hotels since December 2022. Additionally, he holds the position of Coordinator for the Scientific Research Standard at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, actively contributing to the academic and research excellence of the institution since June 2023.
