Dr.   Kareem M. Selem distinguished academic and researcher in the field Network science and Graph Analytics. My academic journey began with undergraduate studies from October 2010 to May 2014, where I pursued a BSc in Hotel Management from the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Suez Canal University in Ismailia, Egypt. I successfully obtained a degree with a remarkable 87.17%, earning an Excellent with honors.

Education

From January 2020 to October 2022, I pursued my doctoral studies, obtaining a PhD in Hotel Management from the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Suez Canal University in Ismailia, Egypt. My research focused on the intersection of business economics and emerging technology, specifically exploring the impact of creative destruction to achieve sustainable competitive advantage through augmented reality. The dissertation delved into the application of augmented reality in five-star hotels, employing a creative destruction approach to practices. Through an experimental study, I assessed the effectiveness of augmented reality in enhancing the hotel workplace, enabling employees to develop their knowledge and unleash latent talents. I received an excellent degree with a recommendation to publish the thesis at the level of Egyptian and Arab universities.

Prior to my doctoral studies, I completed my Master’s degree from October 2016 to October 2019, earning an MSc in Hotel Management from the same faculty. My master’s thesis, titled “Assessment of occupational health and safety measures for staff in the food and beverage department: Applied to some three-star hotels,” focused on managing human resources in the service sector, particularly the hospitality industry. The research centered on implementing global standards, specifically “ISO 45001-2018,” to ensure strict measures for maintaining the health and safety of employees in the workplace. I received an excellent degree with a recommendation to publish the thesis at the level of Egyptian and Arab universities.
