Prof. Stephen Glasby a distinguished academic and researcher in the field of Group theory and Mathematics .His academic journey includes roles such as Associate Dean for Research at the University of the South Pacific in Fiji from 1997 to 1999, Associate Professor at the same institution from 1996 to 1999, and Assistant Professor at the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Sydney from 1991 to 1995. Before that, he held the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, from 1989 to 1991. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a commitment to advancing mathematical knowledge and education.

Eduvation
Since obtaining his Ph.D. in 1988 from the Department of Pure Mathematics at the University of Sydney, the individual has built an extensive and distinguished career in academia and research. Currently serving as a Research Fellow at the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Western Australia since 2013, he has contributed significantly to the field. From 2013 to 2017, he held the position of Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Engineering and Mathematics at the University of Canberra, ACT 2601, Australia. Prior to that, he served as a Full Professor at Central Washington University in WA, USA, from 2004 to 2012, and as an Associate Professor from 2000 to 2004. In 2000, he also worked as a Software Designer and Consultant for Teradyne Inc. in Boston, USA.

Invitations, Honours and Awards
Throughout his career, the individual has been recognized as a prominent figure in the field of mathematics, frequently invited to share his expertise at various prestigious conferences and events. In 2024, he served as an Invited Speaker at the Ischia Group Theory conference. The year prior, in 2023, he was a featured speaker at the Computational Algebra and Magma Conference, specifically during the celebration of John Cannon’s 80th birthday. His contributions were also acknowledged in 2022, as he was invited to speak at the Combinatorics, Computing, Group Theory, and Applications conference in South Florida, as well as at the Ischia Group Theory event.
This trend of recognition continued in 2021 and 2020, where he was invited as a speaker at the Ischia Group Theory conferences. Notably, in 2019, he played a key role as an Invited Speaker at the Summer School Matrix Group Recognition, focusing on “Motivating New Advances” held from July 1 to July 5. In 2018, he was invited to speak at The Third International Conference On Group Actions and Transitive Graphs in Shenzhen, China. His international presence is underscored by his participation as the Chevalley Seminar speaker at Paris VII in 2015 and as an Invited Speaker at Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands in 2014.
Further, he contributed to the 100th birthday celebration for the late Professor Hsio-fu Tuan at Peking University in Beijing in the same year. Additionally, his editorial contributions include serving as Managing Editor for the Special Issue of the Journal of the Australian Mathematical Society in honor of L. G. Kovács from 2014 to 2016 and as Divisional Editor for Communications in Mathematics from 2013 to 2017.
