He holds a Doctor in Sciences in Electronics, specializing in Integrated Circuits from INAOE, which he completed in January 2000. He also earned a Master in Sciences in Electronics, with a focus on Integrated Circuits from INAOE in September 1995, and an Engineering degree in Electronics from ITPuebla in June 1993. Currently, he is a Tenure Professor and Researcher (Titular C) in the Department of Electronics at the Instituto Nacional de Astrofísica, Óptica y Electrónica (INAOE), located at Luis Enrique Erro No. 1, Tonantzintla, Puebla, 72840, Mexico. He is an IEEE Senior Member (40010582) and can be reached at +52-2222663100 ext. 1425.

He is on sabbatical leave at the Computer Science Department, CINVESTAV, Mexico City, from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024, supported by CONAHCyT-Mexico. Previously, he was a visiting researcher at the same department from November 2016 to October 2017 and at the VLSI System and Computation Lab, University of California at Riverside, USA, from September 2009 to August 2010. His short stays as a visiting researcher include the Department of Information Engineering at Universita Degli Studi di Firenze, Italy, in May 2019, the School of Automation Engineering at the University of Electronic Science & Technology of China in Chengdu, China, from March 27 to April 27, 2015, the Centro de Investigación y Desarrollo de Tecnología Digital in Tijuana, Mexico, in November 2013, and the VLSI System and Computation Lab at the University of California Riverside, USA, in December 2012.

Dr.  Dariush Abbasinezhad Mood distinguished academic and researcher in the field Network Security.  His research interests include Cryptography, Trust and Reputation based Systems, Authentication Protocols, Smart Grid Security, Wireless Sensor Networks, Blockchain, Internet of Things, and Embedded Systems. Further, his job interests include Hyperledger Fabric, Linux, Single Board Computers, PCB Design, Networking, and Programming. He reviewed more than 620 articles in 70 journals like IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Systems Journal, and IEEE Internet of Things. He received the B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Payame Noor University, Mashhad, Iran, in 2009 and the M.Sc. degree in Secure Communications from Imam Reza International University, Mashhad, Iran, in 2016 with the first rank. His M.Sc. thesis, which was about lightweight security protocols for smart grid communications, was elected as top thesis in 2017.

 Academic Positions:

In 2023, he served as a Senior Ethereum smart contract developer and deployer for an international project, working remotely with Unipoly Company based in Turkey. Prior to this, from 2021 to 2022, he was a Senior Hyperledger Fabric network operator and smart contract developer for a national project with RadinChain Company in Mashhad, Iran. His expertise in blockchain was further honed from 2020 to 2021 as a Blockchain expert for another national project at MayanChain Company, also located in Mashhad, Iran.

Before transitioning into blockchain roles, he dedicated his time from 2017 to 2021 to private teaching, focusing on Python, Qt, Hyperledger Fabric, and computer network security. He also imparted knowledge on Python programming, PyQt, PySide, Qt cross-compilation for ARM single board computers, and Hyperledger Fabric network design and smart contract programming. During this period, he engaged in design and programming of custom STM32 and ESP boards.

His earlier experiences include Qt cross-compilation with image processing libraries in 2019 for a knowledge-based company, as well as the preparation of customized Linux for Cubieboard with Qt in 2015, also for a knowledge-based company.
