He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science with a focus on Reinforcement Learning and AI at the University of Galway, Ireland, which he began in 2022. Prior to this, he earned a Master of Science in Computer Systems Engineering with a specialization in Data Science from the University of Engineering & Technology, Peshawar, Pakistan, between 2018 and 2020. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems Engineering from the same university, completed between 2014 and 2018. His academic journey began with an F.Sc. in Pre-Engineering from Edwards College Peshawar, Pakistan, from 2012 to 2014, and he completed his Matriculation at Edwards College School Peshawar, Pakistan, between 2010 and 2012.

 Experience:

He is currently serving as a Lab Engineer in the Department of Computer Systems Engineering at the University of Engineering & Technology Peshawar, Pakistan, a role he has held since September 2019. In this capacity, he teaches courses in Data Analytics & Business Intelligence, covering Statistics, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning, as well as Web Engineering. He ensures the practical implementation of case studies using tools and languages such as MS Excel, Tableau, R, Python, and MySQL. Previously, he worked as a Project Engineer at the US-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Energy UET Peshawar, in collaboration with the Pakistan Air Force, from August 2018 to June 2019. There, he led a team in condition monitoring and predictive maintenance of an aircraft using machine learning, conducting data analysis and literature review to identify key variables and develop predictive maintenance techniques. From September 2017 to July 2018, he was an Undergraduate Researcher at the US-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Energy, in collaboration with USAID and Arizona State University, where he led the development of a socio-technical model for distributed sustainable green energy power plants, creating a database and conducting data analysis following social and technical surveys in Pakistan. Additionally, he has gained diverse work experience, including roles as a Visiting Lecturer/Instructor at the Institute of Management Sciences Peshawar, teaching Data Analytics & Business Intelligence with hands-on case studies, and as a Trainer/Instructor at the University of Galway for Computer Programming courses for young students, along with serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for undergraduate programming courses. He has also served as a Program Coordinator/Trainer for the National Vocational & Technical Training Commission of Pakistan, managing a program and providing training on Cloud Computing, civic sense, entrepreneurial and soft skills. Furthermore, he has experience in entrepreneurship, having owned and managed Thali Spot Restaurant in Peshawar, Pakistan. Awards

He has been awarded a fully funded Ph.D. scholarship by Science Foundation Ireland for the EIRE AIAI Project, spanning from 2022 to 2026. His academic and research efforts were recognized when he secured the second runner-up position in the Project Poster Competition at the International Conference on Sustainable Energy Technologies held on September 12-13, 2017, in Islamabad, highlighting the concept and quality of his research. He received a grant of 2 million PKR from the Government of KP Pakistan’s Youth Impact Challenge for his startup initiative. Additionally, he achieved runner-up positions in Speed Programming competitions at the I.T Fiesta’15 at UET Peshawar and Code Crunch’16 at IMSciences Peshawar.

Notable Projects

He has undertaken several notable projects, utilizing a diverse set of skills and technologies. His COVID-19 analysis project involved the use of descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive statistics and data analytics, employing tools such as Python, Tableau, Power BI, and Excel. For fault prognostics of hydro power projects, he applied data analytics and machine learning using Python, R, Tableau, and Excel. He worked on condition monitoring and predictive maintenance of a jet aircraft using machine learning techniques with R, Stata, Excel, MATLAB, and Python. He developed a socio-technical mathematical model for sustainable distributed green energy using R, Tableau, and MS Access. In his analysis of the Peshawar Development Authority’s Driver and Road Assessment Project, he compared the architecture, efficiency, ease, and cost of cloud versus on-premise solutions using Amazon Web Services for IoT and data analytics. He also set up and configured a Cisco networking lab in the Department of Computer Systems Engineering at UET Peshawar using Cisco networking technologies. He configured a Linux server for Tesla K40 to apply protein alignment algorithms and data compression (JPEG) on the GPU, utilizing CUDA and Ansible. Additionally, he simulated system process handling on a multicore processor and developed a programming syntax compiler using C language. He created a first-person shooter game with Unity and C#, and completed multiple embedded systems and IoT projects with microcontrollers. Lastly, he developed and designed websites using DBMS, CMS, HTML, CSS, and PHP.

Throughout my career journey, I’ve traversed diverse roles and geographical locations, accumulating a wealth of experience in research and engineering. From delving into the intricacies of mechatronics engineering at institutions like the Italian Institute of Technology and the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Italy, to contributing to cutting-edge research in mechanical and automation engineering at the National Institute of Applied Sciences in France, I’ve always been driven by a passion for innovation and problem-solving.

My academic pursuits have taken me across borders, from pursuing a research fellowship in robotics and artificial intelligence at Sapienza University of Rome to my current role as a postdoctoral researcher in mechanical and manufacturing engineering at the University of Calgary in Canada. These experiences have not only deepened my understanding of the field but also honed my skills in tackling complex challenges and pushing the boundaries of technological advancement.

He pursued his academic journey with zeal and dedication, starting with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Azad University in Iran, where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors. Building upon this strong base, he pursued a Master of Science in Mechatronics Engineering at Sharif University of Technology in Iran from 2006 to 2008, delving into the interdisciplinary realm of engineering. Eager to deepen his knowledge further, he embarked on a PhD in Industrial and Information Engineering with a focus on Mechatronics Curricula at the University of Udine in Italy from 2013 to 2016, where he honed his research skills and expertise. RESEARCH INTERN

During his time as a research intern at Karlstad University in Sweden from August 2015 to December 2015, he immersed himself in the field of assistive robotics. Focused on the design of a human-friendly walking assist robot vehicle, he dedicated his efforts to refining control systems and variable stiffness mechanisms. Through his internship, he gained valuable hands-on experience in the development of innovative solutions aimed at enhancing mobility and accessibility. His contributions during this period underscored his commitment to leveraging technology for the betterment of society, particularly in improving the quality of life for individuals with mobility impairments.

INDUSTRIAL PROJECTS

In his current role at Cure Data in the USA from February 2024 to the present, he collaborates closely with a multidisciplinary R&D team comprising engineers, scientists, and physicians. Together, they are dedicated to the development of an extensive digital twin, a digital replica used for modeling and simulating human organs. His contributions to this project involve leveraging his expertise in various fields to enhance the accuracy and functionality of the digital twin, aiming to revolutionize medical research and treatment approaches.

During his tenure at Halo Beauty in the USA from September 2023 to December 2023, he played a pivotal role in developing core aspects of control and electrical engineering, as well as a vision system for an automated hair braider. Working in tandem with a mechanical engineering team, he focused on refining the end-effector, sensor-based controls, and retraction systems. His collaborative efforts ensured the seamless integration of electrical and control components, optimizing the performance and efficiency of the automated hair braider.

AWARDS AND HONORS

Throughout his career, he has garnered recognition for his outstanding achievements and contributions to the field of engineering. Notably, in September 2019, he received the Best Conference Paper Award at the IEEE International Conference on Cyborg and Bionic Systems (CBS 2019) held in Munich, Germany, showcasing his excellence in academic research and innovation.
