Assoc Prof Dr. Chia-wen-Lu  distinguished academic and researcher in the field Preventive Medicine. She has been an attending physician in the Department of Family Medicine at the National Taiwan University Hospital since 2013. In addition to her clinical role, she has served as a clinical lecturer in the Department of Family Medicine at the College of Medicine, National Taiwan University since 2016. Her academic career progressed as she became a clinical assistant professor in 2019, and she has recently been appointed as a clinical associate professor in the same department in 2024.

Currently, she is a Ph.D. candidate at the Graduate Institute of Clinical Medicine, National Taiwan University College of Medicine. Her clinical training includes serving as a resident in the Department of Family Medicine at the National Taiwan University Hospital, Yun-Lin Branch from 2008 to 2012, and as a fellow in the same department at the National Taiwan University Hospital from 2012 to 2013.

Prof Dr. Rogério Pereira distinguished academic and researcher in the field COVID-19.  Dr. Rogério Pereira  in Economics from the Graduate Program in Economics at the Federal University of Pernambuco (PIMES/UFPE), with professional experience in Brazil, primarily working as an adjunct professor in the administration course at the State University of Bahia (UNEB). As a researcher, he coordinates the Regional and Urban Studies Group (GERU) and is a member of the Group of Studies in Spatial Economics (GEESP/UFBA) of the Brazilian Association of Regional and Urban Studies (ABER) and the Regional Science Association International (RSAI). He was a CNPQ scholarship holder during his master’s degree and a PAC/UNEB scholarship holder during his doctorate. He has published works in Regional and Urban Economics, Social Economics, and Natural Resources and Water Economics; his latest work was published by Regional Science: Policy and Practice. Recently, he worked as a consultant/researcher on the COVID/19-Artificial Intelligence project, in partnership with CIDACS/Fiocruz and CIMATEC/SENAI. Additionally, he initiated the Sustainability in the Brazilian Semi-Arid project: an application of microsimulation and machine learning to national environmental legislation. He completed his academic journey with notable achievements. In 2018, he earned his PhD in Economics from the Federal University of Pernambuco in Recife, Brazil. His doctoral thesis titled “Crime and Income in Brazil” focused on analyzing the correlation between crime rates and income levels in Brazil, employing Spatial Econometrics techniques. Under the guidance of Tatiane de Almeida Menezes, he conducted extensive research in the field of Applied Microeconomics, particularly in the realm of collective services provided by public administration concerning security and public order, including civil defense. Prior to his doctoral studies, he obtained his Master’s degree in Economics from the Federal University of Bahia in Salvador, Brazil, in 2001. His master’s thesis, supervised by José Carrera Fernandez, explored the economics of crime, utilizing time series analysis for the Greater São Paulo Police Region. During his master’s studies, he was supported by a scholarship from the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel. His academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Mackenzie Presbyterian University in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where his undergraduate research focused on the concession of public services in Brazil during the 1990s under the guidance of Pedro Correia. Prior to his university education, he completed his secondary education at Rodrigues Alves School and elementary education at State School Profa Mildre Alvares Biaggi, both located in Brazil.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Since January 2015, he has been employed at the Universidade do Estado da Bahia (UNEB), serving as a public servant with the title of assistant professor. He works full-time with an exclusive dedication regime. Additionally, he holds the position of Coordinator of the Regional Studies Center (NER/UNEB). He has taught various courses in the Administration undergraduate program since 2015, including subjects such as Operational Research, Statistics, Economics, and Management. Moreover, he has been engaged in research and development activities within the Department of Human Sciences at UNEB, focusing on topics like Social Economics and Regional and Urban Economics. In 2015, he briefly held the position of course coordinator and has been actively involved in academic and administrative roles within the institution.

In 2021, he conducted an extension course on Spatial Econometrics, focusing on important concepts and advancements in model identification, spanning 2 days. Furthermore, in 2016, he delivered a specialization course on Project Management and contributed to the IV Administration Journey, both addressing different aspects of administration. Additionally, he taught courses on Open Source Software in 2016 and 2015, covering topics such as publishing, thematic maps, and statistics, with a focus on econometrics and computing.
