Additionally, he obtained a Diploma in Economic Evaluation from Universidad de Antioquia in 2013, completing a 160-hour program.

 

Work experience

He currently serves as the Coordinator of the health economics unit at Instituto de Evaluación en Tecnologías en Salud (IETS) since 2023, overseeing a team of economists engaged in economic evaluations, budget impact analysis, and other related studies. In his previous role as a Senior Health Economist at IETS from 2017 to 2023, he was responsible for designing, validating, and implementing economic methodologies, as well as leading data processing and analysis efforts. He spearheaded projects such as the cost analysis of Comprehensive Health Care Routes (RIAS), Budget Impact Analysis (AIP), Economic Evaluations (EE), and the estimation of the cost-effectiveness threshold for Colombia. He also served as a Technical Advisor at Universidad Autónoma de Manizales from March 2020 to June 2020, providing expertise in health economics for a project funded by MINCIENCIAS Convocatoria 777-2017, focused on calculating healthcare costs within the environmental health context in five departments of Colombia’s central region. During his tenure as a Data Analyst at EPS y Medicina Prepagada Sura from July 2018 to January 2019, he conducted statistical and econometric analyses, particularly investigating factors contributing to the rise in rehospitalization rates. As an Investigator at the Facultad de Ciencias Económicas, Universidad de Antioquia from June 2015 to December 2015, he contributed to projects analyzing the cost of childbirth care in Medellín and conducting Economic Evaluations (EE) and Budget Impact Analysis (AIP) of Everolimus for heart, liver, and kidney transplants. At the University of Jaén, she was part of a team of six researchers working on “Towards a more accessible CEFR/VEC,” focusing on adjusting descriptors with corpus-based learner outcomes.
