Subsequently, he pursued a Doctor of Philosophy degree at the same institution, specializing in Biophysics, which he completed in 1969. Later, between 1981 and 1983, he earned his Doctor of Science degree in Biostatistics & Ecological Modeling from the P.P. Shirshov Institute of Oceanology, USSR Academy of Sciences.
