He has attended several educational institutions over the years, starting with Opebi Grammar School in Opebi Estate, Ikeja, from 1992 to 1997. He completed a course at IMS Computer Training School, Oba-Akran, Ikeja, in 2000 and earned a Certificate in Desktop Publishing (DTP) the same year. In 2001, he completed his studies with the West African Examination Council (Private). He pursued a Diploma in Business Administration at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State, Nigeria, from 2002 to 2004, followed by a B.Sc. in Economics from the same university from 2005 to 2008, graduating with Second Class Upper honors. He then earned an M.Sc. in Economics (Ph.D.-Proceed Grade) from the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, between 2012 and 2014. In 2016, he attended the Kenya School of Monetary Studies in Nairobi, Kenya, and participated in the Joint Facility for Electives on the Ph.D. Programme. He completed his Ph.D. in Economics (Collaborative) through a Collaborative Ph.D. Programme (CPP) in Sub-Saharan Africa hosted by the University of Ibadan from 2016 to 2020.

He holds numerous academic qualifications, including a Ph.D. in Economics (Collaborative) from 2020, a Joint Facility for Electives on the Ph.D. Programme from 2016, an M.Sc. in Economics from 2014, a B.Sc. in Economics from 2008, and a Diploma in Business Administration from 2004.

Professionally, he is an Alumnus and Network Member of the African Economic Research Consortium since 2020, a member of the Central Bank Research Association (CEBRA) since 2018, and an Associate Member of the Nigerian Economics Society (NES) since 2011. He became an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) and a Graduate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) in 2010. Work Experience

He has extensive work experience in academia and research. Currently, he is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics at Fountain University, Osogbo, a position he has held since November 2022, where his duties include teaching, research, and community development. Prior to this, he served as Lecturer I in the same department from October 2020 to September 2022, and as Lecturer II from October 2017 to September 2020. He began his tenure at Fountain University as an Assistant Lecturer in March 2014, holding that position until September 2017.

Before joining Fountain University, he was a Research Associate working with Prof. S.A. Tella, Director of the Centre for Continuing Education at Olabisi Onabanjo University, from 2013 to March 2014. He also gained experience as a Junior Research Fellow at the Centre for Applied Economics and Policy Studies (CEAPEPS) in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, from 2010 to 2013. Additionally, he served as a Part-Time Lecturer at the School of Part-Time Studies, Lagos State Polytechnic, Isolo, Lagos, from June 2010 to 2012.

He began his professional career as a Mathematics Teacher during his National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) at Gandi Secondary School in Rabah LGA, Sokoto State, from 2009 to 2010. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Quality Control Assistant at Krimo Products Nigeria Limited from June 1997 to September 1999.

He completed his Master’s in Economics at Universidad EAFIT from 2016 to 2017, focusing his thesis on the topic of high preference for liquidity and low inflation within the framework of a DSGE model. Prior to that, he pursued his Bachelor’s in Economics at Universidad de Antioquia from 2008 to 2014, where his thesis delved into the cost-effectiveness analysis of prophylactic treatment with acyclovir compared to valganciclovir for the prevention of cytomegalovirus disease in kidney transplant recipients in Colombia. Additionally, he obtained a Diploma in Economic Evaluation from Universidad de Antioquia in 2013, completing a 160-hour program.

 

Work experience

He currently serves as the Coordinator of the health economics unit at Instituto de Evaluación en Tecnologías en Salud (IETS) since 2023, overseeing a team of economists engaged in economic evaluations, budget impact analysis, and other related studies. In his previous role as a Senior Health Economist at IETS from 2017 to 2023, he was responsible for designing, validating, and implementing economic methodologies, as well as leading data processing and analysis efforts. He spearheaded projects such as the cost analysis of Comprehensive Health Care Routes (RIAS), Budget Impact Analysis (AIP), Economic Evaluations (EE), and the estimation of the cost-effectiveness threshold for Colombia. He also served as a Technical Advisor at Universidad Autónoma de Manizales from March 2020 to June 2020, providing expertise in health economics for a project funded by MINCIENCIAS Convocatoria 777-2017, focused on calculating healthcare costs within the environmental health context in five departments of Colombia’s central region. During his tenure as a Data Analyst at EPS y Medicina Prepagada Sura from July 2018 to January 2019, he conducted statistical and econometric analyses, particularly investigating factors contributing to the rise in rehospitalization rates. As an Investigator at the Facultad de Ciencias Económicas, Universidad de Antioquia from June 2015 to December 2015, he contributed to projects analyzing the cost of childbirth care in Medellín and conducting Economic Evaluations (EE) and Budget Impact Analysis (AIP) of Everolimus for heart, liver, and kidney transplants. In his earlier role as a Consultant at Integralis Health Global Solutions (HGS) from March 2015 to June 2015, he led a pharmacoeconomic analysis project for the pharmaceutical company Janssen, involving team leadership, literature review, cost construction, modeling, and results analysis.

Academic experience

He is currently engaged in teaching roles at several prestigious institutions. At Universidad CES since September 2022, he instructs the Economic Evaluation course within the master’s program in health economics. Similarly, at Universidad de Antioquia since April 2015, he serves as a Modeling course instructor and thesis director in the specialization in health economic evaluation. Additionally, he provides guidance on health outcomes modeling and advises on preliminary research projects in the diploma in health economic evaluation. Furthermore, he directs master’s theses in clinical epidemiology and offers a health economic evaluation course in the master’s program in clinical sciences. At Universidad del Bosque since February 2023, he teaches a Health Economics course in the master’s program in health administration.
