Assoc Prof Dr. Serena Doria distinguished academic and researcher in the field Technological Networks. she graduated in Mathematics, with a focus on Applied Probability, from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” on January 29th, 1992. Since November 1st, 2022, she has been an associate professor in the scientific sector MAT 06 – Probability Calculus and Mathematical Statistics. From 1995 to 2022, she worked as a researcher in the scientific sector MAT 06 – Probability Calculus and Mathematical Statistics. Her research interests include coherent conditional forecasts and their extensions, Hausdorff measures and fractal sets, Choquet integral, representation of orderings, equivalences in complex decisions and complex systems, and knowledge representation in Artificial Intelligence.

She organized the Ninth International Symposium on Imprecise Probability: Theories and Applications (ISIPTA’15) in Pescara from July 20th to 24th, 2015. Furthermore, she organized the Fifth SIPTA Summer School on Imprecise Probability: Theories and Applications in Pescara from July 16th to 20th, 2012. Since 2001, she has been a member of SIPTA (International Society for Imprecise Probability: Theories and Applications). She also participated in the PRIN 1999 Research Program – Mathematical Models for Uncertainty Treatment and Alternative Project Selection in Architecture and Urban Planning, led by Professor Antonio Maturo at G. d’Annunzio University of Chieti-Pescara, with National Scientific Coordination by Professor Romano Scozzafava at La Sapienza University. She served as a reviewer for national projects as a member of REPRISE (the register of scientific experts established at the MIUR) for the following section: Basic Research. Additionally, she acted as a reviewer for scientific articles within the framework of the VQR 2015-2019. She also reviewed scientific articles for the following international journals indexed in Scopus and/or WoS: International Journal of Approximate Reasoning, Information Sciences, International Journal of Information Technology and Decision Making, Fuzzy Sets and Systems, British Journal of Mathematical and Statistical Psychology, Axioms, and Symmetry.

Dr. María F. Escobar-Vidarte  distinguished academic and researcher in the field  Telemedicine. She has also dedicated herself to continuous learning through various courses and training programs. In 2023, she completed the Good Clinical Practice course at the NIDA Clinical Trials Network, further enhancing her expertise in clinical research standards.

Additionally, her contributions to the field are evident in her published work. In 1997, she co-authored a paper titled “Trauma de diafragma, lesión de víscera hueca y empiema” in the Revista Colombiana de Cirugía, demonstrating her commitment to advancing knowledge and understanding in surgical practices.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Throughout her professional journey, she has held a diverse range of positions, showcasing her expertise and dedication to the field of gynecology and obstetrics. She began her career as a Rural Physician at the Secretaria Salud Municipal in Cali, Colombia, from 1998 to 1999, followed by a role as a General Practitioner at the UCI Pediátrica Fundación Valle del Lili in Cali from 2000.

Her career trajectory saw her assuming various teaching roles, including Professor Ad-Honorem at the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Universidad del Valle and Universidad CES in Cali and Medellín, Colombia, respectively, from 2006 to 2008. Later, she joined the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Universidad Icesi in Cali as a Professor in 2010, eventually becoming the Department Head from 2015 to 2018.

In her clinical roles, she served as a Gynecologist and Obstetrician at the Hospital Universitario del Valle in Cali from 2004 to 2007 and then as an Institutional Medical Officer in the same department from 2004 until the present. She also took on leadership positions, such as Coordinator of Maternal and Fetal Epidemiological Surveillance and Service Chief of various obstetric and gynecological units at Fundación Valle del Lili in Cali from 2004 to 2019.

Her commitment to innovation and strategy is evident in her roles as a Strategy Leader for the Hospital Padrino Strategy and Unity Chief for the Global Health Equity Unit at Fundación Valle del Lili, where she continues to contribute to improving healthcare delivery. Additionally, she played a pivotal role in implementing telemedicine services at the foundation from 2018 to 2023, demonstrating her adaptability to emerging trends in healthcare.
