Ruey-Beei Wu joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at National Taiwan University in 1982 and served as its Chairman from 2004 to 2007. He has been with the Graduate Institute of Communications Engineering since its inception in 1997. He held postdoctoral positions at IBM (1986) and was a visiting professor at UCLA (1994) and Gent University (2009). He served as Director of the National Center for High-Performance Computing (1998โ2000) and as Directorate General of the Planning and Evaluation Department at the National Science Council (2002โ2004). From 2012 to 2016, he was President of the Institute for Information Industry (III).
