He holds a Ph.D. and Post-Ph.D. in Electrical Power Engineering from Shahid Beheshti University, graduating with first-class honors, achieving a remarkable GPA of 19.3 out of 20. Currently, he serves as the Chairman of the R&D board at HICOBI Company and is an Assistant Professor at Iran Islamic Azad University. Mr. Rohit Kumar distinguished academic and researcher in the field Power system.  He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi. Before this, he obtained his Master’s degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya University, Bhopal. His research endeavors have led to the publication of four peer-reviewed research articles focusing on power system dynamics and control. His work primarily revolves around the integration of energy storage and renewable sources into transmission networks, along with the design of wide-area damping controllers.

He pursued his academic journey with a Bachelor’s in Engineering from R.J.P.V, Bhopal, specializing in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, where he achieved an impressive 83.1%. Building upon this foundation, he completed his Masters in Engineering at R.J.P.V, Bhopal, with a focus on Power Systems, securing a commendable 80.2%. Driven by his passion for advancing his field, he embarked on a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi in 2019. His proposed thesis, titled “A Robust Wide-Area Damping Control Scheme for Battery Energy Storage System/Wind Turbine System Integrated Power Networks to Mitigate Inter-Area Oscillations,” showcases his dedication to tackling complex challenges in power systems. Alongside his academic pursuits, he demonstrated consistent academic excellence, evidenced by his achievements in intermediate and high school, where he attained 73.6% and 62.7%, respectively, from the Bihar School Examination Board, Patna.

Power system dynamics and control for transmission system with integration of energy storage system and renewable energy source, robust control scheme-based wide area damping controller design for battery energy storage system and wind turbine system, FACTS devices and virtual synchronous generator application in power systems.

Internship

He has actively engaged in various positions of responsibility, demonstrating his commitment to both academia and practical learning. Notably, he served as a Teaching Assistant for several subjects at the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi, India. During the odd semester of 2019, he contributed as a Teaching Assistant for “Power System Protection and Switchgear,” and in the subsequent even semester of 2020, he took on the role for “Power Transmission & Distribution.” Continuing his involvement, he served as a Teaching Assistant for “Power System Analysis & Control” during the even semester of 2023 and for “Power System Simulation Lab” during the odd semester of the same year. Additionally, he gained valuable hands-on experience through a 15-day Industrial Training program at the Power Distribution Training Center in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. These experiences underscore his dedication to both theoretical education and practical application within the field of electrical engineering.

Dr. Manuel S. Alvarez Alvarado distinguished academic and researcher in the field  Syber Physical Power Systems. From 2023 onwards, he has been actively engaged in academia, serving as the International Accreditation Coordinator for the Electricity degree program at ESPOL (Escuela Superior PolitĂŠcnica del Litoral). In addition to his academic role, he holds the position of Vice-President at Rodsolar Technologies since 2020, contributing to the industry sector. Furthermore, he continues to be an integral part of academia and research as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering (FIEC-ESPOL) at ESPOL, a position he has held since 2020. In his ongoing commitment to academic research, he serves as a reviewer for prestigious journals including the IEEE Transactions on Power Systems and the IET Generation, Transmission, and Distribution.  He received the degree in electrical power engineering in 2011 and the masters degree in physics education (rank 1) in 2013, both awarded by the Escuela Superior Politecnica del Litoral, Guayaquil and the M.Sc. degree in power and energy systems (rank 1) in 2015 from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, NJ, USA. In 2019, he awarded the Ph.D. degree in educational physics given by the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico. In 2020, he received his second Ph.D. degree in power systems with the University of Birmingham, Birmingham, UK. His research areas include educational physics, quantum mechanics, renewable energy, electrical trains, smart grids, and power systems reliability.

He has garnered numerous accolades and recognitions throughout his academic and research career. In 2023, he was honored as the Best Researcher in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the ESPOL major quartiles event, highlighting his outstanding contributions to the field. His excellence in research was further acknowledged in 2019 when he received the Best Paper Award at the 3rd Annual School of Engineering PGR Symposium in Birmingham, UK. Additionally, he was recognized as a Top Peer Reviewer in 2019 both in Cross-field and in Engineering categories by the Web of Science Group, Publons.

In preceding years, his contributions were similarly esteemed, with notable awards including the Best Paper Award at the PES conference session during the Third Ecuadorian Technical Chapters Meeting in Cuenca, Ecuador, in 2018. He was also honored with the Premio Roy Billinton Student Paper Gold Award at the Conference on Probabilistic Methods Applied to Power Systems in Idaho, USA, in 2018.

His achievements extend internationally, as evidenced by the Best Paper Award at the 4th International Conference on Sustainable Energy Technologies in Hanoi, Vietnam, in 2016. Furthermore, his academic pursuits have been supported by prestigious scholarships, including the Ph.D. program Walter Raffo Valdano scholarship at ESPOL and the Senescyt scholarship for the Ph.D. program.
