In his recent research endeavors, Michael Wang, in collaboration with colleagues, delves into various aspects of logistics and supply chain management, particularly in the context of the post-COVID-19 era. In one study presented at the Logistics Research Network (LRN) Conference 2023 in Edinburgh, UK, he explores the relationship between job satisfaction, supply chain agility, and firm sustainability. Another research effort investigates the influence of logistics digitalization on international trade logistics performance, using evidence from the World Bank’s Logistics Performance Index (LPI). Furthermore, Wang examines interdependence relationships among supply chain uncertainties in transport operations, presenting a conceptual framework at the 30th European Operations Management Association (EurOMA) Conference 2023 in Leuven, Belgium.

Additionally, his research extends to the digitalization landscape for African smallholder farmers, exploring relevant literature, and contributes to understanding the measurement of firm digitalization in supply chains. Notably, he addresses the impacts of firm digitalization on supply chain agility, emphasizing the mediating role of innovation capability. His work also explores the antecedents to firm sustainability post-COVID-19, with a focus on supply chain agility. Furthermore, Wang investigates the business use of blockchain in New Zealand organizations, shedding light on this technology’s application.

Overall, Wang’s diverse research portfolio showcases a comprehensive exploration of contemporary issues in logistics, supply chain management, and the impact of digitalization on various facets of business and sustainability.
